Behind the Scenes: What It Takes to Produce a Geedup Show

A great night out looks effortless — but there's a lot of work behind it. Weeks before doors open, our team is locking venues, negotiating with talent, and mapping out everything from stage plots to crowd flow. On event day, load-in usually starts 6-8 hours before doors. Sound and lighting get tested, security briefs the floor plan, and our ticketing team does a final check on scanner hardware and Wi-Fi backup. By the time guests start arriving, dozens of small decisions have already been made to make sure the night runs smoothly. After the last guest leaves, the real work of tearing down, reconciling ticket counts, and debriefing with the venue begins — usually finishing well past sunrise. It's a lot of hours for a few hours of magic, but that's the job, and we wouldn't trade it.
