Guelph: Where It All Began

Every big night out has a first night. For Geedup, that was a living room in Guelph in 2022 — a small crowd, a borrowed sound system, and a playlist built from whatever Afrobeats and Amapiano tracks we couldn't stop replaying that summer. What we noticed early was simple: there was no shortage of people in Ontario who wanted this kind of night — the music, the crowd, the energy — they just didn't have anywhere consistent to find it. So we started throwing it ourselves. Guelph is still where we test almost everything first. New DJs, new formats, new city ideas — if it works for the Guelph crowd, it's ready for everywhere else. Three years and five cities later, that first small room is still the reason the rest of this exists.
